Being a "ground plant" the sweet potato makes a good covering for the soil which slows down evaporation. This keeps the precious water in the soil longer for regeneration of the often dry depleted mountainous lands of northern Philippines. We made a 3-minute video clip about our work here at Ecogenesis Farm and Training Center. We sent it to the ROTARY CLUB in thanksgiving for their support.
